Weather in Dublin
The weather in Dublin is often better than much of the country. Quite often, April and most of August tends to be quite sunny and warm compared to the rest of the year and so these are the best times to visit.
So if you want to factor in the weather before coming to stay , here are some helpful facts:
- The coolest month on average, is January.
- The driest month on average, is July.
- The warmest month on average, is August.
- The wettest month on average, is December.
But it has to be said, the weather in Dublin, and indeed, the whole of Ireland is very unpredictable and you never can tell exactly what it’s going to be like far in advance. But the climate is very temperate and rarely are there extremes of either heat or cold. In winter the temperature rarely drops below freezing, snow that lasts on the ground is rare, and it often feels colder than it really is. In July, the average temperature in Dublin is around 63°F (17°C) and in January around 41°F (5°C), although, the extremes, (which are rare) tell a very different story at close to 90°F (32°C) in July and close to -2°F (-19°C) in January. But don’t take my word for it, check it out yourself at met.ie
Luckily, Dublin has lots of great warm, welcoming pubs to shelter from both the extremes
